KINE-P 246 Teaching Experience

During this class we were given the oppurtunity to create two 45 minute workout plans with different focuses, either resistance training or cardiovascular based, to teach to a group of around 25 students.

The first 8 weeks of this course were spent down in the weight training room in the Natatorium on IUI's campus. There we learned about resistance training exercises and how to program those workouts. After going through the material on resistance based training we then got a partner to present the workout to the class.

The second 8 weeks we did the same thing inside the dance studio in the Natatorium with cardiovascular based training.

Coaching big groups of people in workouts in this class has tought me how to be a better public speaker. The skills and knowledge about fitness has translated to my job where I am a fitness coach at EDGE Fitness & Strength.
